Facebook is a popular free social networking website that allows registered users to create profiles, upload photos, and video, send messages and keep in touch with family, friends and colleagues. On the Facebook social networking site, a News Feed is a list of updates on your own Facebook Home Page. The News Feed will show updates about those people who are on your friend’s list.
The VP, Product Management of News Feed Adam Mosseri, announces an update to News Feed that helps the users to see more post and to make sure they don’t miss stories from their families and friends. Mosseri noted that Facebook will learn from each user’s behavior to determine which friends to place higher in the News Feed.
When People come to News Feed, they expect the stories in their feed to be meaningful and informative. They also enjoy their feed as a source of entertainment for some people that is following a celebrity, watching live videos, and sharing photos with their friends. The company is working hard by trying to understand and predict what Facebook post finds more entertaining.
The company is making a lot of changes to its News Feed algorithm, and the latest update might actually a good change for some Facebook users. With the latest update, Facebook will make sure that its users enjoy the new look of News Feed.
‘’Overall, we anticipate that this update may cause reach and referral traffic to decline for some Pages. The specific impact on your Pages distribution and other metrics may vary depending on the composition of your audience. We encourage Pages to post things that their audiences are likely to share with their friends’’
Facebook will continue to work on improving their News Feed to show people the stories that are most relevant to them and make ranking updates to share them on their News Feed FYI blog.
